Elaine Plybon/Andrea Keller
Elaine Plybon is an instructional technology specialist in a nationally recognized 1:1 school district in Texas and is responsible for two high school campuses, Jack E. Singley Academy and MacArthur High School. She is a certified Gender Equity Trainer, a LoTI Certified Mentor, and has a strength in writing engaging, standards-based online courses, as well as giving makeovers to lesson plans, turning them into relevant, technology-rich activities. Elaine is an award-winning member of the Discovery Educator Network Texas leadership council, was named as a finalist for Instructional Technology Specialist of the Year at TCEA 2012, and currently serves as communications officer for TCEA campSIG. Her favorite project is Girls of Technology (GOT - www.irvingisd.net/academy/got), an organization she co-founded which was designed to create community among girls interested in careers in STEM. Andrea Keller is a world-class educator that spends every waking moment encouraging the youth of today. She begins her day within a Special-Education classroom motivating and educating her student through the eyes of technology. She pushes her students to great heights, using various tools to enhance and engage. You name it, Mrs. Keller and her "Busy Bees" have created and mastered it! Immediately after she wraps up an activity within her classroom, Andrea leads other students into a world of unlimited possibilities through Destination Imagination. If there happens to be a spare second, Mrs. Keller can be found researching grants in order to ensure current technology and resources for her students. Andrea is truly a cutting edge 21st century teacher and has been recognized by TCEA as 2012 Teacher of the Year and by the National School Board Association as one of their 20 to Watch 2012. In her spare time, Andrea serves on the leadership council for the Texas Discovery Educator Network.
